Here’s a case where the LCD screen on the laptop goes black at random and the solution is to fix or replace the inverter.

Remove the screen bezel this will reveal the whole screen.  At the bottom of the screen you will see an elongated piece of circuit board with wires coming from either end covered by frosted plastic.

That is the inverter, check the connections on the inverter and power the laptop up to check the display, to remove it gently pull the plugs from each end and remove the screw from the middle and pull the board away.
Look at the inverter for a copper coil, if you re-solder the solder points around the coil you may find it works again as components that suffer from extreme heat the solder joints dry causing bad connections, re-floating the solder solves the problem.
