HP Pavilion DV6000 will not power up.
Filed in Laptop Power Issues on Sep.05, 2009
HP Pavilion DV 6000 powers up momentarily and turns off with no display. The LEDs comes on for a second and then goes off. Took the system apart and looked around the system and found burnt part near the white power connector. Replaced the burnt part and the board powers up fine now.

Do you know what sort of component this is?
Is it an condensator?
And do you know the value?

Hi – I don’t comment on many sites but had to on yours. It’s really nice! I really like how you write – very to the point, unlike a lot of other blogs. Thanks for having this site. I don’t have time to read it all right now, I found this site when looking for something else on Yahoo, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will check back soon to see the latest posts. Keep up the great work!

So my dv6000 has been experiencing the same issues. Turns on for a second, than off. Blue lights on and fan starts for a second, than turns off. I have taken the machine apart, I’m looking at the point that you have pictured closely, and it’s all fine in here.
The problem seems to be not here. Any ideas?
